The beaches of the Pacific coast of Colombia are recognized as an important destination to witness the amazing annual migration of the humpback whales. These majestic animals arrive in the country in early July, after swimming around 8,500 kilometers from Antarctica, looking for warmer waters. They stay here until late November with the purpose of giving birth to their calves, a truly amazing experience. The places in Colombia where you can practice whale-watching are Nuquí and Bahía Solano (Chocó), Gorgona Island (Cauca), Bahía Málaga (Valle del Cauca) and Tumaco (Nariño). A still very pristine place, with rustic infrastructure, but with magic in the air you won’t find elsewhere. An ideal destination for nature and adventure lovers, combined with the perfect local contact experience, an opportunity for visitors to merge with the diverse universe of the culture and the magnificence of a territory chosen by these stunning nature giants.
