Colombia is an amazing natural paradise and it has become more attractive in the past decades for visitors, investigators, and content creators. Last year, Sendero de la Anaconda was released, a 72-minute documentary that mainly talks about the creation of a path that connects the Amazon with the Atlantic and the dream of turning it into an ecological corridor that can protect more than 200 species and the experiences of two foreigners at the Amazon. Angelica, our Destination Expert, wrote about it and tells us why you should definitely watch it.
“I am going to talk about “El Sendero de la Anaconda” a Colombian documentary film that shows part of the hidden treasures of Colombia. Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world and in this documentary, you will notice that. It talks about the Amazon forest described by two foreigners Wade Davis (writer) and Martin von Hildebrand (anthropologist) who felt in love with the Amazon because of its wide variety of nature and culture, the communities of indigenous people who showed them how kind, happy and rich they are, and life in the jungle. They also show that is an area that needs our attention and efforts to preserve it. The protagonists document their journey through this PARADISE, which is how the main characters of this film describe the Amazon, and probably how you will describe it if you have the chance to come. I invite you to watch this documentary film, available on Netflix. I am certain you will fall in love as well and be amazed at finding this magical part of the country where landscapes and people are the perfect combination to allow you to live a unique and unforgettable experience”.
